John Florin is Associate Professor of Geography at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He earned his BA in history and geography from the University of Kansas and the MA and PhD in geography from Penn State. His research focuses upon U.S. historical and cultural geography, population, and medical geography. He is author of many publications, including Atlas of American Agriculture:The American Cornucopia (New York:Macmillan, 1995) with Richard Pillsbury.
