Raymond Krishchyunas received his advanced degrees in geography from Moscow State University and has taught at university of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, university of Kentucky, Macalester, Moscow State University, and was a visiting scholar at Jawaharla Nehru University in India.  He grew up in Soviet Georgia and works as an interpreter and translator with various groups in the united States.
